If you are in the market for custom lighting, you will find that there are many custom lighting stores that offer creating customized lighting for almost all types of design. You will find that the prices for custom lighting range from very affordable to quite expensive. And so if your design is quite complicated, with lots of details and must be made from quality and expensive materials, the job may cost you a lot. On the other hand, if you choose to have your custom lighting done by stores that accepts custom lighting jobs at very low cost, you may end up with a lighting that is quite different from your original design. In other words you really have to find a good custom lighting store. Here are some tips that will help you find one.
First is the company or the store itself. You really would want to get from a lighting store that creates the lighting themselves and do not sub contract it to lighting manufacturers. Many do not realize that this is the reason why the price differs from store to store. There are many lighting stores that are really just stores. They just offer customization as another service since they are already in the business of selling lighting but in reality it is their supplier that does the job. Since they do not have to shoulder the cost of the overhead, they are able to offer the service at lower price. The downside however is that customers do not get the same quality of work that they would otherwise get from real custom lighting companies. This includes work from artisans who know how to create the design down to the last detail.
Second is to also make sure that the company has good track record. Check out their portfolio and ask their past customers if they were satisfied with the work. And since they also sell other lighting, check out their products. If you find them to be of high quality, in terms of workmanship, design and materials then it shows that the company is a good one. You can then trust it to do your design.
Lastly, you should make sure that you have everything down, from the design down to how much you are willing to spend on your lighting. This will allow you to see the big picture especially if you are on a very tight budget.
